So welcome, Jimmy, to Unstoppable Success.

SPEAKER_00

Thank you. I appreciate y'all. Um like to say when we met, good people meet good people.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

The Importance of Training and Leadership

SPEAKER_00

And you blend in. You know, me right now, six years retired, but still help people, right? People need help or whatever. But it's just knowledge and wisdom for me. That's all it is. I'm about to be 65. But I look at where I'm from, from New Orleans, right? But I'm retired military. Me and my wife. Successful kids, successful kids. Um that we're fortunate, well, then get no. I'm old school. I say you do. That that's me. But when it comes to dealing with business and sales, I walked away for a reason. You know, I had military things I was dealing with as well. But then when companies don't take care of their people, I don't want to be a part of it. And that's one reason I left the Navy. Because I felt that being a chief, we gave up too much power to take care of our people. Because the military went corporate. Okay, and I'm a veteran, I support the military. But it's not a business. Okay, it's the military.

SPEAKER_01

Right, it's the military. But Jimmy, you told some stories, and I want I I would like for you to reiterate one of you know the story that you shared. And I think this is really important about training other people because training people, and again, listeners, this is so important. It it helps you be successful and others. You know, unstoppable success comes from you helping other people be successful. And Jimmy, you again, you shared stories about training people and helping them have success. So could you share one of those stories or a couple of them? Because I, you know, I think about the the one story that you shared about, you know, walking in with the the guys, you know, wearing their dress into our bar.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Well, with training with me, okay. You got to know your product.

unknown

Okay.

The Importance of Training and Leadership

SPEAKER_00

Why was I a good recruiter, a great recruiter? My product was United States Navy. It was my life. So it was easy for me to sell. So with the recruiters, you know, young guys, single, want to go to the bar, you know, looking for women and stuff like that. I said, okay, let's go. Well, put on your uniform. And they're like, what? I said, you're a recruiter, bruh. Make sure you got business cards in your pocket. Put on your uniform. Right? So when they do that, I say, you're gonna meet people. So one recruiters met this female that had three kids by three different guys. I said, man, get her information. He said, Why? I said, just get her information. I said, Man, have her come to the table. So she came to the table. I said, Um, can I get the numbers to the three guys that you got babies by? And everybody looked at me like, what are you doing? So we when we went to work Monday, I called all three of them. They came in for an interview. All of them joined the Navy because you asked one simple question. Do you want to take care of your child? Well, she makes out two, because she ain't got to do nothing, because the military is gonna take care of it. But when it comes to training your people, you have to know your people, and that's the biggest thing, okay. Military is about camaraderie, okay. But I know my product, I know my market, I know my people, and I know I'll go. Me as a leader, I used to let my recruiters sit in my seat for a week. Not like you and George. And other leaders, zone supervisors, will question me. Well, why do you do that? I said, because I was a recruiter, but after a week, this what your people say to you. I did not know that you dealt with this every day. So guess what? Now that you know, me and you shouldn't have another problem. It's that simple. Okay, you have to find your replacement. When you talk about training people, what are you training them for? Basically, I need you to replace me because when I go on vacation, I don't want to bother. Right. What's wrong with that?

SPEAKER_01

There's not so that is a quintessential that's so important. And listeners, like unstoppable success. Your success is predicated on the people in your tribe. Your tribe, your tribe is made up of, you know, whether it's people within your company, it's your family, it's and if if it's in your corporate life and you're at point A and you want to rise up to B, C, D, and you know, you want to keep going up, well, the people that are in your fold, how do you move up? You people are gonna, someone's gonna have to slip into your spot, right? Right. And so that is so important, and because the people that you entrust, and they trust you, because you know they're that they know that you have their back and their best interest, they are going to help elevate you because they want to. They want that's like the same thing with the company. They're gonna want to see the company succeed, they're gonna want to see the military succeed. Yeah, because they've been entrusted with trust and they know that you trust them, and vice versa.

SPEAKER_00

Well, but it works two ways because, like, when I just go on vacation, yeah. I just said one thing before I left. You know what I expect when I get back. Make it happen. I'm not calling you, I'm not checking you, nothing. You get back a lot of times, what leaders don't understand. Why don't you sit back and talk to your people about what happened while you were not there? You're gonna wake up to realize I never even thought about this. Take a good idea from a worker, because I like I tell people, I'm a worker beat. So when I work with my people, I roll up my sleeves. Just because you're in charge, show them that you can do it too. Okay? Show them that, like, hey, the reason I'm up here and you're not up here yet, because I already do how to do this, but I'm gonna teach you how to do this now, to where we didn't get taught that. But because of what I noticed, my surroundings, leaders teach you what to do and what not to do.

SPEAKER_01

But they show you with their actions, right? They show their actions. So I had a gentleman on the podcast yes the other day, and one of the things he talked about was um one of his first jobs, and I and I and uh it was just it's a great story. So, listeners, sorry if you're hearing this again, but I just loved it. Cause it really is so true. He had a boss that knew uh boss coming in, and they all walked the new boss walked through the parking lot. And as the guy walked through the parking lot, what did he do? He picked up trash, he picked up the garbage, he picked up, you know, the tissues, the bottles that other everybody else left around. And they saw that. And guess what? That man, this the new boss, never picked up any other garbage. And guess what? There was never any other garbage in the parking lot because everybody else knew to take care of it. Oh, imagine that. Like, see, see, see something, do something.

SPEAKER_00

But that that's that's a part of training, right? A lot of times you're talking about how to lead people. I said, okay, doing training, you gotta leave from the back. They say, What you mean? I say you're gonna start in the front to tell them what they need to do, but then you need to see them do it, do it from the back, but then go to the side of them and walk with them to talk about it. And they say, Well, I said, look, when you're walking side by side with somebody, you're not looking in their face, they're not looking in your face, you're just talking, you're on the same level because some days you can't make it as a leader, somebody gotta go there, somebody have to be in charge, but the deal is you have to trust them. Okay, like with me, you know, people mess up, and I have my days, I'm gonna go off, but I knew how to throw them off. They would mess up, they would come in, and they speck and that I'm about to tan to them. I asked a simple question. I said, You realize what you did yesterday? Uh yeah, Chief. I said, make sure it don't happen again. He said, excuse me. I said, make sure it don't happen again. I said, You can leave. It just throws them off. But guess what? Nine times out of ten, it's not gonna happen again. See if you come back the second time, now you're gonna get it. But you made them realize just don't do it that way no more. That's it. You can leave, and they get back and forth. And see, when you do that to somebody, they work harder. That's what people don't know. They work harder when you don't get in the ass. Right? It is like, man, I just knew Chi was gonna go off, but he didn't, and I never brought it back up. But see, when it comes to training, I made them train on the issue, right? That's what people don't do. I like, hold up. What why am I training everybody when they can train me? Okay, you do this, you do this, you do this. I'm all about impromptu. My people knew to be ready when you come in because I might call your name and say, You got it. People like, well, but but I'm not prepared. Yes, you are. I'm telling you talk about your job, I'm telling you to talk about what you supposed to know how to do. So get up there, train us. Done deal. And sometimes it's bad, you know, but but don't don't hover that over them. Be like, yo, bro, that was pretty good, but you need to do it this way.

SPEAKER_01

Well, because that's where people learn. If if you're you know, teaching others is one of the best ways to learn yourself, yes, right? And so if you can teach it, you'll know it. If you have to keep teaching it so you know it better, then keep teaching until you get it.

The Importance of Leadership and Delegation

SPEAKER_00

And sometimes you gotta see this what leaders mess up on. We think because we're leaders, we're supposed to know everything. No, you don't. Surround yourself around people that know everything and put them in charge. From a competitive standpoint, what I used to tell my competition, I'll teach you everything I know, I'm gonna teach you everything I know how to do, and I'm gonna still beat you. You're still gonna lose to me. Okay, and you'll be like, What you mean? So when the year is over, what they realize is Jay still beat us, but we've never written that many numbers. So everybody improved. Right, because eventually Jay's gonna leave. That means somebody else gotta take over. It's that simple. We know one day we're not gonna be here. So take care of your people, let your business continue to grow even when you're not here no more. Right. But greed takes over, right?

SPEAKER_01

Something that you just said that I think is really important that I kind of I really want to just hone in on that. And I I know I've said it before, and we've said it before on the show, but that is surround yourself with people that are smarter than and know more than you because you don't know everything. And exactly one of the biggest things about growing and and scaling your business and having that unstoppable success is play to your own strengths, you and admit that you can't and aren't going to be able to do everything amazing, right? But know that you can bring people or you know, again, it's it's that tribe who's in your tribe, right? That you can elevate, and and I I know it's an overused word, but who can you empower because they have that strength, or it's a bigger strength than you. You know, I might be, you know, you might be great at in person, I might be great on the phone. So right, so play to those strengths.

SPEAKER_00

Well, so you got to play to it, but that's all like the concept of a round tape, right? Right. I love the round tape because everybody at the table is important. Everybody's sitting in a leadership role, but everybody at that table knows, everybody at that table don't know everything, but as a group, we understand everything, so that's why your circle is strong. You created a strong circle. You know, I always tell people we pebbles. Think about a lake. You drop a pebble in a lake, how many circles does it create? That's your life, and those circles grow, some disappear, some come back. You know, me as a recruiter, recruiting people will come in today. Is not their day to join. Well, the way I did sales, okay, that's cool. Let's pick a day. And it might be six months. And my crew's like, why do you do that? I said, because we got a job every month. So if you keep doing this every day, every month's gonna build up. You ain't gonna never miss goal, right?

SPEAKER_01

You're always gonna right, and that's consistency, having those consistent actions compound over time so that it's it's the long game. You're not playing the short game, you're playing the long game, but you have to play the long game because it's never gonna end, right?

SPEAKER_00

Right. We call it a pipeline. Uh-uh, uh, I'm like, look, man, you I say you're born, and one day you're gonna die. It's what you do in between. What do you have to do to live your best life? Period. I'm fortunate to be in the life that I am right now, and I love where I'm from because it taught me to be here. I go back to visit, but I'm not gonna go back to live, you know. But you go back because there's still other people back there that you want to pull out of there family, friends, everybody, and eventually somebody's gonna wake up and listen. But it's the same thing with business right now. Look at the number of people losing jobs, so the entrepreneur spirit is larger right now than it's ever been. But one thing that I tell entrepreneurs stop being greedy.

unknown

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

Because if it's all about money, you ain't doing a damn thing for people. You you and some people don't get it. I I don't care if you're a billionaire, how much money is enough? But if you keep helping people, you're gonna stay rich. You ain't gonna never be poor. So why sometimes give some free stuff away and watch how your business grow? Right. Because now people that didn't want to deal with you because they didn't think you was that good, seem like, you know what? I didn't know they thought like that. I want to deal with that business, I want to deal with those people. Success brings success. Okay, it does, and people don't understand what rich is. Everybody rich on different levels. It ain't about money.

SPEAKER_01

Rich does not necessarily mean the amount that you have in the bank. I think it's the amount that you have in your heart, and that's what it's supposed to be.

Building Community and Connection

SPEAKER_00

Well, see, we forget that's who we are. We're humans. God put us here, all us the same, because all of us breed, all of us go to sleep, all of us talk trash. So touche, so true. We all the same, you know. So what are we different colors? Okay, that's cool. All right, but if you close your eyes, we're all black, so stop tripping, right? And people like Jay, why are you like that? I say, look, man, life is about humor. Okay, it's easy to be mad, and negativity is stronger than positivity. People like what do you mean by I said, look at the world today? We have more negative than positive because of what's happening to everybody, so even positive people, they're not thinking negative, but they're feeling for people that are thinking negative right now, that's going through things right now. Okay, how can you help them? You know, I gotta go talk to some friends about getting their community back. Okay, let's start with a weekend barbecue. Everybody get in front of your yard and cook something, share with the neighborhood. America, right now, we need to start realizing what neighborhood we live in because of what's happening. Because if war starts here, who are you gonna depend on?

The Importance of Community and Connection

SPEAKER_01

Well, I think somewhere along the line there's a word, there's a phrase that says, Love thy neighbor.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. When did we forget to do that? You got neighbors right now, you never know, you never see. People don't even leave their house.

SPEAKER_01

You know, it's so true. You know, it's it's the community that you can create. And I always think the again, you just said it, and I think it's really true. Success breeds success. But you also have to be, you know, be open to making deeper connections with people. Be open to, you never know when that one connection is going to lead you to something else, right? Right. We've talked about that, but it's also if you get to know your neighbors, those are the people that they live on the same street. You should know the cars they drive, you should know what they do, so that if you don't see the car for a while, maybe you might want to check up on them or just go. I mean, if if we can take care of the people around us, or at least be able to support them, when something bad happens, why do we have to wait for something bad to happen for us to get to know each other or to reach out? Get to know.

SPEAKER_00

But see, if you're helping them, they're gonna help you. Exactly. Yeah, okay. Kids, all kids in neighborhoods get to know each other because kids just play. That's why I'm not a Halloween guy. Yeah, I like Halloween in my new neighborhood because so many people come to. Dressed up with their kids. Now you get to know the neighborhood. Conversations start. This, this, this, this, this. But we we at a point right now you're cautious because you're not comfortable. Okay, I can understand that. You have to be aware of your surroundings at all times. But you gotta know how to throw people off. They say, What you mean? I say, say good morning. Smile at them. So real simple. Good morning. Good evening. Good afternoon. How much that cost you? It right. Why don't we do that?

SPEAKER_01

I I what do you think? Don't you think people have gotten a f there's a fear, I think, right?

SPEAKER_00

It's a fear, but this the problem. What are you scared of? See, they can't answer that question because you don't know what to be scared of. So stop being scared of every damn thing. Speak. Say good morning. When a veteran sees a veteran, nine times out 10, we speak. We say to each other, thank you for your service. People don't understand the power of that when a veteran says that to a veteran. When civilians ask me, I turn into a joke. I'll be like, what you thanking me for? Well, I'm thank you for your service. No, what are you thanking me for? You're thanking me for serving so you could be the knucklehead that you are? Because you didn't serve. And most people laugh. And it's not that um I'm getting on them, but but sometimes you be like, What are you thanking me for? Especially what we're going through right now in the country. Okay. What are you thanking me for? Well, what are we dealing with right now? So I'm I'm just a straight shooter that most people when they meet me, they're like, I like Jay. Because I'm gonna see what you're thinking.

SPEAKER_01

And and it's interesting that you say that, right? Because so and I think this is also another kind of a kind of a key point. When when did we stop uh learning to properly speak our mind? You know, it's there's speaking our mind and then there's speaking mind with hurt, right? But I guess but if you s if you open your mouth and you s and you question things and you speak, you know, and and you say, as you just said, you say what other people are thinking. Why do we why have we gotten to a place where no a lot of people don't want to open their mouth?

SPEAKER_00

Because right now they were fooled to make America great again. I said, okay, you want to make it great again? Go back to freedom of speech. Speak your mind. I've been around the world twice, I'm in the military. Some countries can't speak their mind. We was always allowed to speak our mind, to say what we wanted. It was you weren't being held accountable, you just speak in your mind. That's it. That's when we were great. But now people are afraid to say certain things, to look at certain people. They they cautious about this, this, this, this, this. I'm like, for real? Okay, stay in your house then. Okay, just stay in your house. Okay. Parents today, I tell them, I say, look, there's not a book out there to teach you to be a good parent. Not one. I don't care what nobody says. People say, Why you say that? I say, right now, the parents today are raising their kids like friends. Why don't you be a parent? Be a parent first. You know me, I believe in accountability, responsibility, commitment, the triangle of life. You do these three things, you can only be successful. Teach that to your kids. Stop being a friend. Because the only friend that your kid got when they turn three now is a phone. That's their friend.

SPEAKER_01

And parents don't think absolutely horrible.

SPEAKER_00

It's horrible because when you go to dinner now, you got whole families, everybody on the phone. Nobody's talking. Can you put the phone down? Can we have a conversation? My kids can never bring a phone in the dining room. We're here to eat dinner. Don't bring a phone in here. Because we're gonna talk about what you did today, what you gotta do the rest of the week. Go back to simplicity to understand your circle. Start with your community, start with your friends, and see if you lose a friend, that's not a bad thing. No, okay, because sometimes you're gonna lose a friend that's gonna come back. That's the problem with the world. My friends be like, Jay, these dudes don't even like you, but they always ask you for a favor. I said, because I get things done, bruh. He said, but why do you help them? Because they came and asked me. They asked me for help. I don't care if you don't like me. Why do you want me to help you? And it's easy for me to say no. Well, no, bruh, I got you. But do you what I owe you? Do it for somebody else.

SPEAKER_01

But that's a that is a very special quality. It's not you, you know, you're not looking at something as tit for tat, right? No, you're just helping. And when you help others, it's the boomerang.

SPEAKER_00

That's it. And that's all you want is the boomerang. Because especially if you help somebody that didn't like you, they become your best friend. Okay, but then they're gonna tell other people about you. So with the entrepreneur spirit and the entrepreneur standpoint, you go in your circle and you don't even know it. You're gonna meet a stranger that you're gonna see who you are, and they'll be like, Hold up, do you know Jimmy Woods? Yeah, I know Jimmy Woods. He told me about you. Arrest my case. Now it opens up a different conversation. Like you talk about training from a corporate America. The best training is after hours when you're having a drink.

SPEAKER_01

Right, the meeting after the meeting is we all talk about it.

Understanding the Journey of Growth

SPEAKER_00

The meeting after meeting. Because you had a couple drinks, you're not nervous no more, you're not tripping, you're a little drunk, and then you will see what you gotta say to your supervisor, and then I could do nothing but laugh. They're gonna get to know you, right? You know, but I didn't know you was like, people don't understand being in the military for me, work was great because that was our life, and it was before doing and after. Every weekend, you at somebody else's house. We are still friends today. All our kids are grown. My son just had my first grandson, he's already called my military friends that he's been knowing since he was a kid. It's it's just confusing that we feel we shouldn't help everybody. And sometimes, some people you shouldn't help if you know they're gonna do it the wrong way, or they're gonna do it against. So I'm not, you know, some doors you have to close, some circles you don't want to be a part of. Okay, what you said earlier. You walked away from a business partner because y'all not on the same page. Well, everybody's in amazement of it. Well, guess what? They're just gonna stay in your circle. That that's all they're gonna do because your reality is gonna wake up for them. We don't know when it's gonna happen. And and see, when you're a leader, things you do in the past is gonna protect and help your future when people realize exactly what you were saying, and that's the same thing with your children. You know, we don't wake up to a get grown, but then we're like, oh man, I wish I listened to dad like 25 years ago. Well, you're gonna listen now? Because you can't go back.

SPEAKER_01

Right, you gotta listen now, right? You gotta figure out sometimes, but everybody hears things at different times, right? And that's the case, right? You know, you could say something to your kid over and over and over again, and then, but yet they're just not ready to hear it or act on it. And then all of a sudden, 20 years later, it's like, oh, now I understand what he means. Now I'm ready to act. Or it could be that you're standing at it, you go to an event. Like, so maybe you're hearing speaker A, you speak, and there's people in the room, whatever. Maybe you say something that I say, but you or you know, something similar. And then I get up and speak, and then everyone's hearing it, and and they're like, oh, whatever. And then somebody else gets up and speaks and says something similar again, and they're like, Oh, I get it, right? It it can take that time, right? For it to actually almost be, okay. I wasn't ready for it the first time, I wasn't really ready for the second time. Oh, but the third time I hear it, I'm ready for it, and I'm I'm able to act on it. And that happens so many times.

SPEAKER_00

Well, the light, the light comes on eventually. All of us go through this, all of us go through this. What I tell people, and this a lot of people do, they get mad because they didn't listen five years ago. It don't matter, bruh. You can't get them five years back, right? Listen now. Okay, and I'm not saying it's gonna be easy, but listen now and deal with it. Grow from it. But when you do, that's when you share it. One thing I did with my kids, I I grew them up in scenarios all day life. I would put them in a scenario. But I did the same thing in recruiting. I'm in the Navy, I'm trying to get you in the Navy. I'm gonna tell you my story, but I'm gonna put you in scenarios, what might happen in boot camp, what's gonna happen at your first duty station, what's gonna happen when you go overseas. People say, why do you do that? Because a lot of times, when you tell them that, when they get into that situation, they're gonna realize that's what he was talking about.

SPEAKER_01

Well, you're being truthful and authentic versus trying to sugarcoat something into blue into something that maybe is is not what it is. But when you actually give people real, you know, it's giving people the good, the bad, and the ugly. People are they'll be they'll be able to see it and receive it and understand. It's like, oh, okay, I got this. This is what Jimmy talked about this. This was the good thing that Jimmy talked about. Jimmy said, you know what, this could be one of the bad things that happened. Okay, this is one of the ugly things that could happen. You're honest, and people then are more open to accepting when something, when the good, the bad, and the ugly happen.

Navigating Challenges in Business and Employment

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because I mean what we deal with right now, just with gas prices. And we laughed at the day on the golf course. They was complaining. They said, Well, Jay, what kind of tank gas you use? I said, premium. I said, Well, I filmed my car up the other day, half a tank was 50 bucks. They say 50 bucks. I said, Check this out, bro. I gotta get to the golf course. So I got I gotta buy gas. They laugh because they still work, right? I said, Look, man, I get it, but we can't stop it. The price of food, everything we're going through, we got to figure out, okay, what adjustments do we have to make? Okay, well, what adjustments you gotta make if you got children? What adjustments you gotta make if you have a business and you have to get rid of your people? Look at all the businesses that's closing down and look at the hundreds of thousands people that's losing the job. Okay, older people is not gonna get a new job. Okay, all these restaurants is closing. So I tell people I like the entrepreneurial spirit, but how do you keep it growing? Right. Okay, how do you manage it for your people? Okay, it's a well you gotta think about your people because people work for you. You're gonna fire everybody. Go and fire everybody. Let me see if you can do all jobs in all 50 states if your company is that big.

SPEAKER_01

And are you gonna do it well?

SPEAKER_00

That's it. But see, if you're firing all your people and see, we're seeing too many good people getting fired. Sometimes you gotta break it down, right? Okay, but people need to understand ownership. You know, when I were learned the word empathy, I never knew that word until I went on recruiting duty. To put yourself in someone else's shoes and don't get emotionally involved. That made so much sense to me. That made sense to me because I'm like, wow, just you know, don't get emotionally involved in it, don't worry about it. But because you're walking in his shoes, it makes you understand them, but put them in your shoes so they can understand you. I'm already in, so I'm gonna put you in my shoes. Ain't that where you want to be?

SPEAKER_01

Right. You know, something that you just said, I think is really important. And listeners, as you're listening to this, I'm hoping that you'll share this episode because it's really important. And and this is it goes back again. I'm gonna just say unstoppable success is not about you, it's about all the people that you can help. And if you are a business and you are running a company and you have people in your fold, you you might look at the bottom line and think, okay, I could, you know, obviously, yes, with AI, we might be getting rid of X, Y, or Z. Maybe you could think about instead of getting rid of them, where might they better be served within the company? Maybe I could use them someplace else. Oh, and you know what? You know, I know prices are going up, whatever, but maybe maybe I don't I as the owner don't need to take as much. Right? You know, or what can I do so that I can keep everybody in my business here. Again, it it's it's how you can help the other people. And I and I and and I think this is actually one of the things that I think that is really important, and and and I I'm hoping companies listen because as much as um AI could help with a telephone answer answering machine, or they can do certain tasks, at the end of the day, the person and that everybody else, what we all appreciate is when we get a person on the phone. We appreciate actually human contact. So as much as we know that AI could handle certain things, maybe they can do certain tasks. You still need people. And it's and we need to think of these things as tools, not as replacement.

SPEAKER_00

Well, AI don't have feelings.

SPEAKER_01

AI does not have feelings. You might think maybe you might think your bot has feelings, and it might say, Oh, that you know, you might go tell it to F off, and it might be like, shoot, that hurts my feelings. It doesn't.

SPEAKER_00

You know what? I like what you're saying, and like you say, you hope companies listen. I like what you say about what a boss should do. Create loyalty, right? Show that you're loyal to your people, especially right now. If a leader of a company was to get all his people together and say, look, these are the things we're going through. I'm doing my best not to try to get rid of people. Okay, be straight up with them. But if I have to get rid of you, I'm gonna see if I can put you somewhere else, or you can use me as a referral to another company. Okay, those people will be mad at you anyway because you're getting rid of them. But guess what? I might be getting rid of you, but I'm not letting you be broke, broke. Right, I'm gonna help you get it, is what it is. That way, if the company grows bigger, you can call some people back. We don't create that no more, okay? Like I tell people, make yourself needed because you're not wanting. They said, Jay, why are you like that? I said, I've been like this all my life. A lot of times I know they don't want me, but I was so damn good they need me. I'm cool, but even though they say, Well, Jay, you're arrogant. No, I'm confident, I'm not an arrogant person. I can be arrogant if I want to. I'm just confident, I believe in what I do, and I'm telling you, you're gonna lose to me. But what people don't understand that, because I say you're gonna lose to me, that's in your head. That's in your head, and because I know you're gonna lose to me, I can't do nothing but win. But I'm gonna teach you to be better. It's just that simple for me. Because at the end of the day, I'm gonna go home and go to sleep, and the next day, you're gonna start another day. It that's why I question myself a lot at the end of the day. How much money did I make today? And it wasn't about money. How many people did I talk to today? I trained my recruiters, talk to 10 people every day, at least 10. And it's just gonna keep growing. Give out a business card, tell them to put it in their wallet. God's gonna put it in their wallet, and then five years later, they're gonna take their wallet out and be like, what is this card? And they're gonna realize they need the Navy or the Marines, the military, period, or something different because of their circumstances, situations change, so you you just gotta give people time, sometime to come around. Some people not, don't get mad about it, right? Still, you know, be cordial to them. Hey, how you doing today, man? Everything all right? Simple conversation. I gotta have a long conversation with you. But if a situation changes, they're gonna wake you up. But like, you know, man, I thought about what you said a year ago, man. Can we talk about that? Now you're in control. Oh, you sure you won't talk to me now? Nah, I got you. But when you say that, you just help them, and they're gonna help somebody else. Because other people and companies don't know that. When you take care of your people and other people see that you took care of your people, you're a good company. They're not gonna talk bad about you. Okay, but some companies just it's the money, money, money, money, money game.

SPEAKER_01

It's so true. So, Jimmy, I could talk to you so for hours on this. What is the best way for people to connect with you? I think every company should have you as a speaker.

SPEAKER_00

Um look, I look, they can get my email, woods1321 at yahoo.com. And people are like, well, give me the phone number. I'm like, you know what? Most of them on the golf course, I don't pick up the phone.

SPEAKER_01

Right, Jimmy's on the golf course. If you want to connect with the email, Jimmy. I'll put that in.

SPEAKER_00

And I do follow up. That's one thing about me. I follow up, but one thing I tell people about me is if you don't want to know the truth, don't ask me. Uh and people like, well, I said, I don't have time to lie. You know, like I was a good salesman. I used to tell my recruiters, you don't have to lie. Just tell them about your life. Because a guy came in one time and said, Well, give me three reasons why I should join the Navy. I said, Why don't you give me three reasons why I need to let you join the Navy? And he gave me two. I said, You can leave. When you come back with the third one, I'll put you in. The people in my office are like, Jay, what are you doing? I said, Trust me, bro. When he comes back, I'm gonna put him in. Well, he came back a month later with the third excuse. I said, Okay, you got the three reasons. I know I can do all three, sign this paperwork. It's that simple. It's it's it's it's really I told people stop lying, and you don't have to lie to be successful. Because the lie is gonna come around.

SPEAKER_01

Tell me three reasons why you don't need me. Tell me three reasons why you don't need my help. Tell me three reasons why you don't need our service.

Unstoppable Success and Connection

SPEAKER_00

There you go. And they're gonna come up with one. Because they don't have three. So I mean, if anybody that's watching this, that you know, if you want to speak to me or whatever, like I say, you know, woods 1321 at yahoo.com, hey, we we take it from there. It's just it's just as simple with me.
